XIBO Ltd took over BackupWordPress from another British company, HumanMade, in August 2018.

People have been asking who we are. In summary, we were founded in early 2009 and has mainly been in the conference industry, supplying digital services to most of the world’s biggest conference and event companies. However, we’ve increasingly switched to development services and have a number of WordPress developers on the staff team.

As HumanMade focuses itself as a WordPress development agency they wanted a company to look after and support the 200k users of their BackupWordPress product. They chose us in part because we’ve got a lot of WordPress experience as well as WordPress backup experience having worked alongside UpdraftPlus Backups (https://updraftplus.com – owned by another significant company in the British WordPress space).

So we will be been actively providing support to users of BackupWordPress, and will be maintaining it as it’s an excellent and well-loved plugin. The project is here and we’ll be reviewing any open source merge requests: https://github.com/xibodevelopment

Although we currently have no plans to sell BWP addons to new customers, we will provide support to existing Premium users who should contact us through the premium support channel (information within the premium plugin).
