WordPress Origin Story

As a developer, I started building sites with WordPress around v2.0.2 or .3, early 2006.

My first records of using WordPress as a user was September 2003, around v0.71. My first post in WordPress was about going back to rugby after a break of several years: http://blogs.boards.ie/trojan/2003/09/24/nowisthetimetogoback/. That was on John Breslin’s blogs.boards.ie, which later became journals.ie.

I can’t find anything on that in archives.org – the earlist there shows it was running wordpress-mu-1.0 and K2 Beta Two r167 by Michael and Chris, protected by dr Dave’s Spam Karma 2!
