WordPress Origin Story

I created a my sailing clubs website (grandriversailingclub.com) many years ago with straight HTML and vanilla JS. Later on, I did a massive update to the website using WordPress, and everyone loved it. At the time we were using SailWave for our club’s scoring needs, and it’s been great. But displaying the results on the website was not intuitive or pretty. I decided to start creating a plugin, and over the last 4-5 years I’ve been refining that plugin to something other clubs can use, and I call it Burgee.
