    I’m a WordPress + React/JSX Developer with ElegantThemes, but some people know me better as “that guy from those Disney comic books.” Husband of one, father of four, Jesus freak and avid Minecrafter.

    WordPress Origin Story

    I heard about WordPress shortly after it was forked from b2. (My background as a web designer had been mostly working with ASP, so I was learning about working with PHP and Linux servers when I heard about this PHP-based alternative to MovableType and Blogger that you could host and manage on your own site. Sounded like something I could really cut my teeth on!)

    As time went on I began working on custom themes and plugins, and managed some small business sites as a freelancer. I eventually made my way to an agency that specialized in Drupal (but still had some clients who preferred working with WordPress), and grew tremendously as a developer during the several years I was there. At that point I joined Elegant Themes, and now I get to work with WordPress every day!
