    Digital Strategist and WordPress trainer, coach, and consultant with a background in product development, information architecture, search engine optimization, social media management, and user experience design. Owns and manages Radio Station, a WordPress plugin for broadcasters and streamers, and Greenskeeper, a WordPress plugin for maintenance management and client notification.

    WordPress Origin Story

    I got involved with WordPress sometime around 2004/2005. I was looking for a CMS to run my Netmix.com site as a blog. I had learned about WordPress through my online research and decided it would be my CMS of choice for my Netmix site.

    In October of 2009, I felt I knew enough about WordPress and having managed extensive web development projects, I decided to start my own digital strategy consulting company, Digital Strategy Works. That year, I spoke at WordCamp NYC and also co-organized WordPress Westchester.

    In 2010, I moved to Chapel Hill, NC to help develop a digital news project at the UNC School of Journalism and Mass Communications. I lead development of our platform on WordPress and it’s where I launched my second WordPress Meetup Group, WordPress Chapel Hill.

    Today, I live in Asheville, NC, where I continue to operate Digital Strategy Works. I presented annually over five years at WordCamp Raleigh and also at WordCamp Asheville and WordCamp Hampton Roads. I took over the WordPress Asheville Meetup in April of 2024 and am now the lead organizer.

    I also own and manage two WordPress plugins. The freemium Radio Station and Radio Station PRO, for broadcasters and webcasters, and the free, open-source Greenskeeper, which helps agency owners and developers perform and manage upgrades while keeping their clients updated.
