I’m a Designer / Developer / Consultant using WordPress as CMS. I mainly design & develop pretty, SEO-optimized themes and do custom plugin development.

WordPress Origin Story

Way back I was building websites, first in HTML (1995), later with CSS (end 90s).
Or with Flash, building a custom PHP backend system, leveraging ActionScript to pull content to the Flash files. Switched out my own CMS for WordPress (v1.5 I guess). Very soon after that, ditched Flash all together, started learning how to build WordPress themes (around 2006-7) and dived deep in WordPress, leveraging it as a CMS very soon. And kept learning stuff, visited WordCamp San Francisco, got talking with Matt, wanted to give back to WP. Signed up as a speaker for WordCamp Netherlands, later started bringing Belgian WP people together, spoke at several Belgian meetups and was part of the organizing team at the first Belgian WordCamp in Antwerp in 2016 where I also gave a talk and filled in for a speaker that had to cancel. Look forward to meeting more tech-afficionados within the WP eco system and am excited all over again with the introduction of the WP REST API.
