    Bio

    I have worked in a lot of different areas in my 20+ years of developing websites ranging across programming, usability, marketing, content strategy, data analysis, and agile project management.

    After starting in enterprise Java, I fell in love with open source in the early 2000s, building more than two dozen WordPress plugins and Drupal modules. Currently, my core focus is developing results-oriented, data-driven tools to enable teams to deliver measurably better web experiences and ROI.

    WordPress Origin Story

    In 2004, after someone used a spam bot to piss off thousands of bloggers with my agency’s contact info I quickly learned about WordPress. Within a few months, we launched our blog on WordPress. To make it work the way we liked I created a plugin called Blog Matrix. We then launched many other corporate blogs releasing themes as we went along.

    As our projects got more enterprisey, in 2008 we switch to Drupal. We then launched many other Drupal sites and built a lot of modules and themes as we went along. Our focus was on content marketing and analytics tools.

    In 2016 I did a three-month road trip around the country researching what content marketers really wanted. They wanted our tools in WordPress. So in early 2017, I release my second WP plugin, Intelligence. Then another and another. So WP, I guess I’m back.
