WordPress Origin Story

As my wife and I started the ShoeBox project (https://www.shoebox.ro) back in 2006, we were also thinking, two years later, when everything started to be big, to buying a domain name and going “online” too.
For two years, our “networking” was done via Yahoo Messenger.
That’s when, in 2008, I discovered WordPress, installed it, had a free premium theme donated by Vlad at vladstudio.com and we went live.

In December 2014, our site was hacked, and I used Sucuri to clean it up and restore it, then in January 2015, I joined the Sucuri team, and I am since going to WordCamps, doing social media and brand evangelism and enjoying the WordPress community.

In July 2019, I joined Cloudflare as a Sr. Social Media Manager and committed to continue my work in the WordPress community, while also helping build a better Internet with Cloudflare.

I am continuing to be part of the organizer teams for various WordCamps and WCEU.
