WordPress Origin Story

Andrew has been involved in WordPress since 2006.

As an advocate of commercial plugins, Andrew created sales for just one plugin in excess of $375,000 in 31 days. He also created over 1,000 new customers for a SaaS solution in just one week.
He has been responsible for over 23 WordPress plugins serving over half a million website owners and has been an advocate for Hosting companies and Plugin developers who excel.

Prior to WordPress, Andrew worked in the Advertising and Printing Industry and was responsible for over £14 million a year in revenue for his printing company during the 80’s and 90’s.

He’s great at generating revenue and rubbish at keeping it – as he likes to travel, play golf and is always ready to help people out who need a little cash injection.

This has led to multiple investments in things that work and sometimes in things that haven’t quite worked out as desired.

He recently sold his Web Dev company and all his interests in plugins, themes and shareholdings of all WordPress related businesses with the exception of Bertha AI and got dragged out of retirement to be a Customer Success operative at Atarim.io which he loves. As of June 30th 2026, his tenure is ended at Atarim and he is now relaxing in the knowledge that he did a great job 🙂 You can visit his website at https://thisisandrewpalmer.com to see what he is up to today.

Andrew Palmer successfully exited five digital businesses. Recently, as Hosting and Customer Success Lead at Atarim.io, he rearchitected their hosting operations and served as the company's first independent investor.

Today, Andrew returns to independent consulting and M&A advisory across the WordPress and wider SaaS landscapes.

With multiple successful acquisitions and extensive experience as a SaaS founder, investor, and evangelist, Andrew works with service-based businesses, plugin developers, and hosting providers to formulate strategic direction, secure investment, and drive commercial growth.

Andrew is an international, well-known, and respected speaker and advocate in the WordPress and hosting communities, regularly traveling to global events like CloudFest and WordCamps to champion streamlined client collaboration and agency efficiency.

Andrew co-founded and fully financed Bertha.ai in 2021, launching an AI-based writing assistant native to the WordPress editor well ahead of the mainstream generative AI wave. Previously, he built, scaled, and sold Elegant Marketplace, Layouts Cloud, and Page Builder Cloud in a mid-six-figure 2019 exit, and founded Somebody’s Hero, a white-label web development agency that successfully managed and transitioned over 500 clients.
