Surf7.net started in 2002, back when websites were mostly static HTML pages and updating content often meant editing code line by line. At that time, our founder, Ben Leow, was helping local businesses in Malaysia get their first online presence. Each update took hours, and every small change required technical know-how. It was clear businesses needed something easier.

When WordPress came along, it changed everything. What started as a blogging tool quickly became a full content management system, and Surf7.net embraced it early on. Suddenly, clients could log in, click “edit,” and publish updates themselves. It was faster, more empowering, and it gave small businesses the same voice online as bigger players.

From there, Surf7.net grew alongside WordPress. We began creating custom themes, building plugins, and tailoring websites for industries like tourism, education, property, retail, and renewable energy. WordPress became the core of what we do; not just because of its flexibility, but because of the community that surrounds it.

Two decades later, we’re still here, proudly based in Malaysia, still using WordPress to help businesses tell their stories online. And while tools like AI and automation have joined our toolkit, WordPress remains the foundation; a platform that turned a small agency’s passion into long-term partnerships with clients across industries.
