I’ve been building for the web since the 1990s, back when every site was hand-coded and “responsive design” wasn’t even a concept yet.
After decades in corporate strategy and energy sector consulting, my WordPress moment came in 2012 when I needed to rapidly deploy multiple websites for a walking route app we were developing. WordPress simply made sense – the speed, the flexibility, the community. That app eventually sold to AllTrails in 2019.
Now, with corporate life behind me (though I still keep one foot in as part-time Director of GNI UK), I’m free to build what matters. I create WordPress sites for causes I care about – Kitsquad charity, Marka dog training academy, community groups, and small businesses. Each project is a choice, not an obligation.
In my 60s, I’m doing my best work. I’m developing resources to help others get more value from WordPress – combining decades of experience in people, process, and technology with the creative freedom to actually make a difference.
WordPress isn’t just a platform for me – it’s how I help people turn ideas into reality, on my own terms.
