    Bio

I’m Christian Steinseifer, a freelance web developer and designer from Freudenberg, Germany, and the founder of Steinseifers Kommunikationswerkstatt. With 26 years in the industry, I’ve been building WordPress sites for agencies, freelancers and end clients from business, volunteering and the private sector. My focus is on custom themes and purpose-built plugins: precise, handcrafted solutions that do exactly what a project needs and nothing more. Creator of Stein’s Cookies with Ease, a privacy-friendly cookie consent manager based on Klaro!

    WordPress Origin Story

I set up my first WordPress site in 2004, when I was 18, for a personal blog. I had started out on Blogspot (remember that?) and WordPress felt like a revelation: my own install, my own rules.

A few years later, my agency was among the first in Germany to launch a large political website built on the then-brand-new Custom Post Types. Looking back, it was pretty bold. Because of a tight deadline we couldn’t wait for the final release and went live on a WordPress beta. It worked, and it taught me how much you can build on WordPress once you stop treating it as “just a blog”.

That mindset has stayed with me for over two decades: WordPress as a flexible foundation for custom themes, purpose-built plugins and real-world projects.
