    Bio

    I’ve been a freelance and contract front-end developer specializing in WordPress since 2011. Currently I am based in St Louis.

    WordPress Origin Story

    In 2010 I lost my job in Pre-Press due to the worst recession since the Great Depression. I had dabbled with building websites in the past and decided to dive head first into freelance work. Pretty soon I realized how powerful WordPress was as a tool for building websites and also the community behind it. I joined WordPress.org in 2011, attended my first WordCamp in 2014, and attended the very first WordCamp US in 2015. Fast forward to 2024. I now work with a custom block theme, full site editor, and build custom native blocks at a St Louis marketing agency. These days I have deep knowledge of WordPress. I try to build websites using the full power of Core versus using page builders.
