    Designer & web enthusiast based in Purwokerto, Indonesia. Founder of DEFS Studio — helping schools and educational institutions go online with WordPress. Also active in the Banyumas WordPress Community (BaWor) and love sharing knowledge through workshops and training.

    WordPress Origin Story

    I stumbled upon WordPress back in 2010 — switched from another CMS and never looked back. The theme and plugin flexibility just hit different. Started with my own personal site, https://soep.web.id

    One chapter I’m particularly proud of: between 2012 and 2017, I used WordPress to champion the idea of “desa.id” — a dedicated internet domain for villages in Indonesia, which at the time weren’t recognized as part of the official government structure that used “go.id”. It was a long fight, but it paid off. “desa.id” is now used by more than 23,000 villages — roughly 30% of all villages across Indonesia.

    One thing led to another, and in 2024 I finally took the leap and started my own web studio. WordPress? Still my ride-or-die CMS to this day.
