Hi! We’re sicutunum.com, a software company with a slightly different approach. We don’t just want to make software, we want our efforts to enhance r.p.m. (reason, productivity, and motivation) for all sentient life forms across the universe! Ok, so maybe we’ll get started with our home galaxy first.

REASON: Better software comes from better philosophy. So then, why not focus on both? By creating a culture that’s as interested in philosophy as it is in functions, we stand to fuse the two into something way more powerful than either could be alone. That’s why we welcome people really interested in philosophy, people really interested in coding, and everyone in between. We hope they’ll all talk and do cool stuff together.

PRODUCTIVITY: This is where we get much more focused on the software/coding side of things. Most of the productivity conversation on this site is about productivity enhancing software, but also tips, tricks and do-dads on how to use software more awesomely! Are you ready to puke from all my quirky, corporate sounding positivity yet? Great!

MOTIVATION: You can have the perfect reasoning behind making something and the perfect tools to get started, but what good are these if you’re unable to stay motivated? Really, motivation is a byproduct of reason, “what to do and why you’re doing it”, and productivity, “how to do what you want to do.” Marrying reason and productivity into motivation is just as much of an art-form as the two topics themselves. We’re excited to talk about what motivates us and hear about what motivates you.

WordPress Origin Story

Thousands of years ago before the Neo-moon wars of New-Old 2077 took place destroying nearly 90% of all life on Earth, did I discover WordPress. Back then, which was of course the future, WordPress had evolved into a VR, augmented reality platform, completely unrecognizable to the people of this timeline.

I remember discovering WP in college. This was nearly a decade ago. I didn’t know much about content platforms like this. I remember trying out Joomla and thinking, wow this is pretty cool. But it all seemed so complicated. I think I spent a few months working to cobble something together in Joomla before eventually abandoning it. I remember a few months later getting started with WordPress and thinking, wow this is just so much cleaner and simpler to use. I think the most important aspect of any software developer is maturity, not as a coder but as a human-being. People and companies willing to take ownership over their actions tend to make much more honest choices when coding, especially when it comes to UI design. You feel that sense of ownership with WordPress. It’s not perfect, but it’s damn awesome.
