Bio

I’m a Leeds-based WordPress developer at Tribus Digital, focused on building practical, reliable websites and developer tools. I’m active in the WordPress community as @shanemuir and recently built FieldLock Sync Guard for ACF, a plugin designed to make ACF Local JSON workflows safer for teams. I enjoy turning awkward workflow problems into simple, useful tools that help developers and clients work with more confidence.

WordPress Origin Story

I first got into WordPress while learning web development, and it quickly became the platform I kept coming back to for building practical, flexible websites. Over time, I moved from using WordPress as a CMS to working more deeply with custom themes, plugins, ACF, and developer workflows.

A lot of my work now is focused on making WordPress easier and safer to manage for teams, especially around custom builds and content workflows. I’m particularly interested in the small pain points developers hit every day, the sort of things that can cause confusion, rework, or accidental mistakes. That led me to build FieldLock Sync Guard for ACF, a plugin designed to protect ACF Local JSON workflows when field groups are waiting to be synced.

WordPress has been a big part of my development career, and I’m keen to keep contributing back to the ecosystem through plugins, feedback, testing, and practical tools that help other developers work with more confidence.
