I’m a WordPress developer, photography enthusiast and open source advocate from The Netherlands.

WordPress Origin Story

I’m one of the people who jumped ship when Movable Type changed its pricing structure back in 2004. I migrated the movie review blog that I maintained to WordPress, and haven’t looked back.

In the early days of WordPress I wrote themes and plugins, some of which were quite popular. I try to contribute to WP by working on core, releasing useful plugins and helping people out wherever I can.

I’m an avid photographer, so I love contributing to the WordPress Photo Directory, both by submitting photos and moderating other people’s images. I was also on the WordCamp Europe photography team in 2022, and hope to be able to volunteer again at future WordCamps.

Currently, I’m part of a team that builds highly customized WordPress websites for the Dutch government.
