Raúl Cerda (@raulcerda) – WordPress user profile

Bio

Designer and WordPress developer from Chile. I care about everyday site features being open source and native to Gutenberg: built with blocks, using your theme’s styles, working in the Site Editor and staying accessible. I design in Figma before writing code, so the details matter: interactions, mobile behavior and copy.

Interests

Figma, WordPress, Plugins, Open source, Gutenberg, block editor

WordPress Origin Story

I started designing WordPress sites right after finishing my degree in graphic design, using premium themes built with Visual Composer. With more experience, I came to believe that native solutions should be able to match, or beat, what paid tools offer, and that is how I want to contribute to WordPress. Today I teach WordPress at Duoc UC in Chile, in university and technical programs.
