Bio

Hello! I’m Zach Russell, I’m a WordPress developer and online marketer hailing from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. I currently run ProTech Internet Group, a digital agency focusing on advanced WordPress solutions for business both large and small. When i’m not writing code or doing other business activities I enjoy playing video games (League of Legends & Minecraft) as well as experiencing all of the wonderful foods and activities that Philadelphia has to offer.

WordPress Origin Story

My first experience with WordPress was back in 2010. I was still in high school at the time, I was building a website for a family friend’s business and stumbled across WordPress as a content management system. Coincidentally, I decided to go with Joomla for the site.

A little more than a year later, I was speaking with a potential employer about doing some web development and SEO for their newly formed agency. I told them that I knew Joomla, and they said; “If you want the job, you need to learn WordPress.” That weekend I went through the Lynda course for WordPress 101 and Building WordPress Themes and I haven’t looked back.

Fast forward 3 years, I now work exclusively work on WordPress developing custom website solutions for companies across the United States.
