I run a small IT company in Shizuoka, Japan, and I’ve spent over a decade volunteering with local sports organizations — including a soccer federation for players with intellectual disabilities.

Every season, I watched the same thing happen: they wanted to share match results on their website, but ended up posting PDFs or plain blog entries because the existing tools were too heavy.

I started building WordPress sites for these organizations, and eventually realized the plugin they actually needed didn’t exist. So I decided to build it.

That’s SPOSCOR, and it’s where most of my time goes. But the same pattern keeps showing up in other work — something that should be simple isn’t, and the plugin that would fix it isn’t there. When I hit one of those, I’ll build that too.

WordPress gave a one-person company in a small Japanese city the ability to build something for the whole world. That still amazes me.
