I like making WP plugins that solve problems in the space of marketing. I am more the visionary and creator, than the coder but am concerned with compatibility and lean code. I’m also expressly concerned with technical support of the plugin, including documentation.

WordPress Origin Story

In 2010, I met a girl (who later became my fiance) and she kept mentioning WordPress. Somehow, I had been selling websites to customers prior to meeting her and we were developing our own cms every single time. Talk about re-inventing the wheel. WordPress shortened development time and made things consistent. Finding people who knew WordPress development was easier.

Since I had some catching up to do, I thought creating a plugin for the community would be a good way to get to know WP users. I hired a programmer on Elance (now Upwork) who helped me create my first WP plugin, Easy Automatic Newsletter. The plugin solved a time-related issue I had, which was how could I re-use my blog posts to make a monthly newsletter to send to subscribers, automatically. I had spent a lot of time making a blog post, and I couldn’t see myself spending as much time on making a newsletter.

The experience taught me a lot about software development especially supporting users. I virtually met a lot of WP users along the way too.
