Bio/Description

I’m a freelance developer focusing almost entirely on custom WordPress theme and plugin development. I provide ongoing development to organisations such as CyclingTips and FirstOffTheBike, and I also work in tandem with designers to provide cohesive custom builds for SMEs.

WordPress Origin Story

I spent a very long time focusing on front end development, but knew that I would need to branch out to more dynamic solutions if I were to continue evolving. I picked up WordPress a number of years back and have been diving into it ever since.

I knocked around with the Genesis theme framework for a short while, but now maintain my own object-oriented framework which is currently on it’s second version; version 3 is already in planning, however, and it may even be something I release for others to use.

Most of what I’ve learnt is a product of reinventing the wheel; a time-expensive excercise, but incredibly rich in experience. Doing so has built my understanding of WordPress to a point where I can really leverage it’s systems to fulfill my clients’ needs.
