More than a decade in HR led to the need for a career change and a ‘retirement plan’. I began dabbling in WordPress 3 years before leaving corporate and ended up creating an LMS portal for the company I worked for to help train employees, another LMS portal for specific training and how-to information for our customers and then ended with the el grande project of an onboarding Human Resources portal for all new staff across the country. I was IN LOVE!
I’m self taught everything I know about WordPress and I turned my side gig into my full time job in 2017. I love the way WordPress helps me empower my clients to get done what they need and feel they don’t have to wait for me to make small changes; they can and very often do it themselves. I offer both teaching and support services to my clients and it’s a real 50-50 split because if they have the time, my passion for working with WordPress gets them excited and they want to learn it too. It just depends on their schedule.
PS, I’m too young to retire, and it’s a good thing because I get to learn something new with WordPress each and every week (even daily some weeks!)
