Back in 2004, I was blogging on Movable Type when they changed their licensing, which led me to start looking for other options.

At the time, everyone was talking about switching from Movable Type to WordPress, saying how simple the process was. I thought I’d give it a try, and I’m so glad I did. Little did I know, WordPress would become such a big part of my life.

For the first few years, I ran my blogs on WordPress, learning as I went. Along the way, I picked up some PHP skills, which helped me customize themes and create small plugins to fit what I needed.

As I got more comfortable with WordPress, people started asking me for help. I found it really rewarding to assist others, and it helped me learn even more in the process.

Eventually, I began contributing to WordPress blogs and answering questions on Quora and WordPress.org. That experience opened the door to my current role as a technical writer for the largest WordPress resource site. Now, I get to spend my days writing about WordPress, themes, plugins, and sharing how-to guides.

I’m truly grateful for everything WordPress has given me — a fulfilling career, the flexibility to work from home, and the chance to connect with some truly talented and wonderful people from all over the world.
