WordPress Origin Story

Although i had first tried creating a personal blog on WordPress.com, my actual journey with WordPress.org took speed with my community project – http://www.radioidli.net . Trials and self-learning from this project gave me most of my lessons in Online media and marketing too.

The success and learning from this site attracted projects from community institutions, non-profits and small business clients. This grew from a hobby to a side business back in 2007 to freelance self-employment in 2012.

Fast-forward 5 years, worked full-time with WordPress.com as a support engineer and eventually followed the career path of a developer via WooCommerce. Worked at Automattic until April 2, 2025.

I now work on independent projects, and learn new things each day while at it!
