WordPress Origin Story – Kenneth “Demetrius” Weaver

My journey with WordPress began as a practical solution to a business challenge. As I built My Deme, LLC, I needed a platform that could support everything from simple websites to complex commerce experiences while remaining flexible enough to evolve with changing needs.

What started with theme customization and search optimization quickly expanded into custom development, ecommerce systems, performance engineering, and the creation of proprietary tools. WordPress became more than a website platform—it became the foundation for building digital infrastructure.

Over the years, I have used WordPress to launch brands, support entrepreneurs, develop commerce platforms, and create scalable solutions that connect technology with real business outcomes. Its open-source philosophy, global community, and extensibility continue to make it one of the most powerful ecosystems for innovation on the web.

Today, I continue to leverage WordPress through My Deme, LLC and Deme Web Solutions, developing proprietary themes, plugins, and digital systems that support commerce, software, and innovation initiatives across a growing portfolio of ventures.
