Bio

Hey! I’m Mahdi — I’ve been knee-deep in WordPress since version 3.0, which honestly makes me feel a little old but also very proud. I spend most of my time doing technical support for WordPress plugins (currently AIOSEO, previously Smash Balloon, CartFlows, Astra, and a bunch of others), so if you’ve ever sent in a support ticket and gotten a weirdly detailed reply about your PHP error log, that might’ve been me.

Based in Istanbul, usually debugging something, always happy to help. Feel free to say hi 👋

WordPress Origin Story

I got into this as a teenager, actually. I was already into web development and wanted to make some money off it, so when my school asked me to build their website, I said yes — and built it in Joomla. And… I hated it. Like, really didn’t enjoy working with it at all.

Then I landed my next project, a private institute, and this time nobody told me which CMS to use. So I actually went and explored my options instead of just defaulting to Joomla again — and that’s how I stumbled onto WordPress. This was version 3.0. I installed it, started building with it, and just fell in love with it almost immediately. Such a relief compared to what I’d just been through.

From there it kind of snowballed — over the next 2-3 years I built more than 20 websites on WordPress. Never looked back.
