Bio

I am Ahammed Mirdas, CEO, and co-founder of PluginHive, with over 20 years of experience working across diverse domains. Now, I specialize in the eCommerce Shipping domain, and my mission is to build the best shipping solution for WooCommerce, Shopify, Magento, BigCommerce, and PrestaShop. Every day, I am excited to solve new problems, whether it’s finding a box packing solution for a merchant shipping bottles or creating commercial invoices for a multi-currency supported eCommerce store. When I’m not working, you can find me playing tennis with my daughter or taking long drives in my BMW with my wife

WordPress Origin Story

I completed my Masters in Computer Applications and worked my way up to becoming a Senior Technical Architect at various IT companies, including MindTree and Societe Generale. However, I realized I needed more of a challenge and decided to start my own company with two friends. We called it Chase Your Dream or CydTechLab for short and chose to bootstrap it using WordPress. Under the brand WooForce, we launched our first plugin and built more plugins for WooCommerce and WordPress, creating new brands like LearnWoo, StorePep, WSDesk, ExtensionHawk, and HikeForce. Due to trademark concerns from the Woo team, we changed the WooForce name to a new brand, XAdapter.

After some time, we decided to separate on good terms and started our own individual companies: Solvilor, Mozilor, and Elula Technologies. Each of us created our own brands, including PluginHive, Webtofee, and AdaptXy. Solvilor and PluginHive are 100% owned by myself and my wife, Minal Prakash Kokane.

Looking back after eight years, I realize that I made many mistakes, such as not sharing my stories with the public and not guiding my team with community guidelines. We should have also focused on building a single brand to make it a billion-dollar company. But, I learned from my mistakes and decided to pursue a single brand, PluginHive, serving eCommerce merchants across WooCommerce, Shopify, Magento, BigCommerce, and PrestaShop. I remain hopeful that WordPress will allow PluginHive back onto their platform.

In the end, the journey of entrepreneurship is full of ups and downs, and the lessons learned along the way are what matter most. I’m grateful for the experiences I’ve had, and I’m excited about what the future holds for my company and me
