Bio

After studying music, Michelle became a journalist in a Geneva daily newspaper. The combination of writing and music gave her the idea to launch Musitext, a writing and translation agency specialised in the field of culture. Since 2013, she’s also been passionate about WordPress and social media. She’s been a participant in the Swiss WordCamps ever since their launching in 2014 (Zurich), was a volunteer in Lausanne in 2018, a co-organiser of the WordCamp Genève 2022, WordCamp Switzerland 2023 (Murten), WordCamp Europe 2024 (Torino) and WordCamp Europe 2025 (Basel). This has enabled her to build an extensive network as a freelancer.
Meetings also take place in her cultural salon (https://kulturlaube.ch/), where she regularly invites young artists to perform public concerts.

WordPress Origin Story

I discovered WordPress thanks to an evening course in Lucerne/Switzerland. After this short introduction, I moved on to do a full web designer course with Arto Steiner from Walter lernt (https://www.walterlernt.ch/) in Zurich. I started attending WordCamps (Switzerland) in 2014, then WordPress meetups (Geneva and Bern). I was part of the organisation team (communication) for the WordCamp Genève 2022 and WordCamp Switzerland 2023. I love using WordPress and the community around this open-source project!
