Mevrik started with a simple observation: businesses were pouring energy into customer conversations, and most of the work happening in those conversations was repetitive, reactive, and exhausting for the humans doing it. We set out to build an AI agent that could actually run the customer experience — handling conversations, taking action, and escalating only what truly needs a person.
WordPress entered the picture the way it does for most people building for the web: we kept meeting it everywhere. A huge share of the businesses we talked to ran their front door on WordPress, and every time we shipped our chat widget, someone asked the same thing — “Can I just install this without touching code?” Copy-pasting a snippet into a theme file works, but it’s not the WordPress way, and it’s not what a store owner or marketing lead wants to be doing on a Tuesday afternoon.
So we built a proper plugin. The goal was to make adding the Mevrik AI chat widget feel native to WordPress — install, activate, connect, done — so that the platform’s promise (AI runs your customer experience, humans supervise what matters) is one click away for the millions of sites that call WordPress home. Contributing back to an ecosystem that so many of our users already trust felt like the natural next step, not a detour.
