WordPress Origin Story

I started my career in fashion ultimately becoming a product development manager which is corporate speak for product design, development, and brand management. When I became a mom I switched gears, but ultimately ended up in the same role using the same balance of right-brain left-brain that served me well in fashion.

After 3+ years as a PHP developer, I was introduced to WordPress in 2013 while working in a small marketing agency. I never looked back. In my opinion, WordPress is the ultimate Web Development framework and suitable for almost any web based application. Particularly now with ReactJS and WordPress intimately co-existing within WordPress, I see WordPress solidly remaining the future of the web and continuing to grow from 38% up.

Product development is fueled by rapid prototyping and quickly establishing a feedback loop. Speed to market is essential to good product development. WordPress + React is a product developer’s dream, and my prediction is that this toolchain will be the future of every “next big thing” on the internet.
