    Bio

    Started programming 1964 and have not stopped since. Made my first computer out of matchboxes and beads. It played TIC TAC TOE learning from every loss untill it was unbeatable. Have completed systems in so many different programming languages that the list is as long as my arm. Anything from machine code to high level commerce. Do not seem to be able to retire due to a lack of sufficently qualified replacements. Universities are missing out on some of the essential techniques required for robust code.

    WordPress Origin Story

    Initially asked to get a site running that had been moved to a new host and had to be up and running in less than 2 weeks. Support from the sites author was non existant and it took ages to get things going. Parallel to that task I dived into WordPress for a plan B solution. Got the plan B version up a running in two days while still battling with the old solution. At the last minute the old solution was online but hell to use. Seeing as the old soultion was only needed for two weeks they decided to stick it out and keep plan B for next year. This year the event was postponed to next year so plan B has been archived. Due to the amazing ease of getting the plan B online I used that experience to present yet another replacement for an old site with numerous issues. So far all is going to plan and now we have to prepare for the transition although some functions in the old site will have to be kept alive to be migrated later as solutions are found.
