Bio/Description

Hello, i am first a Philosopher, then a New Media Freak and last but definitely not the least, a WordPress Lover. I fell in love with IT precisely the year 2002 when cybercafes became popular in Lagos, the city where i grew up. Gladly, my love for Technology has not diminished but has grown bigger and wider with the new Tech inventions that spring up everyday. When i am not sitting in front of my PC, i am either sleeping or watching a movie..haha.

I have been into blogging for quite a while, i have tried different platforms in the past but none has given me the satisfaction and discovery that WordPress blogging has bestowed upon me. I love simple things, i love myself, my creator, my family. Hmm, i love great food *grins*, i love to meet new and exciting people, networking, exchanging ideas and learning new things and cultures, i love mysteries, i love my work tools and gadgets.

What else? Mhh…. I love traveling, experiencing new places and i definitely love photography, i like to take pictures of people, food, myself and any sight that piques my interest. I know some people roll their eyes when they see other people taking selfies, i used to be shy to take selfies but not anymore. You know why? I do not have a single picture of my life in high school, and only few of my degree days. When i think about the memories, i ask myself…why are there no pictures of these times?

That has to change..don’t you agree?

WordPress Origin Story

I was in Ghana 2015 volunteering for my internship with the Salesians of Don Bosco when i got introduced to WordPress. I was surprised to find that their website was built on WordPress, as far as i was concerned, i tried blogging with WP about 3 years before that and it was a disaster.

I felt it was too complicated and difficult to use for blogging, much less designing a website. My internship assignment was a media collection database for the community while i did my blogging on another platform i had been using for years. Quite frankly, the most a published post on my blog got was usually a like from a friend or one comment and maybe 40 views, i used to think it was a personal blog after-all, maybe that is why.

Someone awesome in that community then asked why i was not blogging with WordPress, he then gave me a whole folder containing video tutorials for WP beginners which took me two weeks to watch and understand.

Today, i thank my creator for the day i was given those videos because i have not been able to look back from using WordPress. I moved my blog to WP, got over a hundred followers in two months, redesigned my blog to look so cool that i fell more in love with blogging.

Oh and guess what? I got my first client in the Tech World from WordPress, my client was based in the UK and they loved how my blog looked and needed a redesign for their WP website which was horrible to say the least. This started my journey into learning about WP, i made a lot of mistakes and i learned a lot too, today i am crazy about WP and actively building the WP community in my country Nigeria.

Moral of my Story:
1.) WordPress truly is anything you want it to be – make good use of your imaginations.
2.) No matter what you want to learn to use, there is no shortcut, if you dont take the patience to learn and understand any craft (Tech applications and software included), you are setting yourself up for a big time failure.
3.) Google is your best Friend! Don’t let her down, she has a lot of potential – become a great Googler (Know how to get accurate and actionable information for good positive benefits to yourself and your society.
