Bio

I’m a visual artist focusing on professional book design and graphic design. I’ve been doing web design and development since the Netscape days. My first blog was on Geocities. For about a dozen years, I led Drupal design/development companies. For the last few years, it’s been WordPress for in-house and select client projects.

I also do video postproduction, including motion graphics, video editing, sound editing, and mixing—something I’ve been doing since HD was bleeding edge.

NB: The “favorites” under my profile do not represent endorsements. They’re mostly just easy bookmarks. Many of these plugins I use regularly, but some I just marked for looking at later. YMMV.

WordPress Origin Story

Years ago, I wanted a blog that I didn’t have to maintain code for (which I was doing regularly for a bunch of Drupal sites), so I signed up for WordPress.com. It was frustratingly limited, but satisficed my purposes. After a while, though, I decided that I really didn’t like having my content in a locked box, so I dove into WP wholesale. It’s been fun learning a whole new world built on a familiar foundation.
