Koloshare started as a one-off build for a company our founder worked at. Their internal file sharing was a shared drive on an old on-site server. Nobody could find anything, outdated files got copied dozens of times, staff kept old e-mails so they could resend important documents to customers, and managers were asked for the same files over and over. So our founder built a custom intranet hub to fix it.

The company already had a WordPress site, and our founder had been building on WordPress for years, so that was the obvious place to put it. Nothing new to buy, nothing new for staff to log into.

The hub grew from there. Features were added as people asked for them, and before long the company had files, news, people and contacts behind one branded login on the site they were already paying for.

Koloshare is the white-labelled version of that project. Development carried on, with more features and improvements, until it became a full intranet suited to businesses of any size.
