My journey with WordPress started back in 2009, although I had already been developing custom PHP software and tailored solutions for clients for years. One day, a client asked me to build a radio station website—but specifically wanted it done with WordPress. At the time, I had only casually installed WordPress or Joomla a few times, but I had never actually built anything with them.

So, I rolled up my sleeves and started developing a custom theme. As I explored the WordPress ecosystem, I was impressed by its simplicity and power. It felt like a platform that made development cleaner, faster, and more enjoyable.

Interestingly, while I was still working on the theme, the client decided not to go ahead with the project. But by then, I had already designed most of it—and something in me said, “You’ve come this far, why not finish it?” So I did.

Once it was complete, I wasn’t sure what to do with it. I decided to put it up for sale on a few forums and on my own website. To my surprise, it sold really well. That was a turning point: I realized WordPress could be more than just a development tool—it could be a full-fledged business model.

Since then, I’ve developed and sold dozens of WordPress themes and plugins. WordPress has become the foundation of my work and the way I support my family. And it all started with one abandoned project that turned into a new direction for my career.
