WordPress Origin Story

Took over from the previous webmaster who retired due to ill health. At that time the site was hand coded in HTML. The society bought a copy of Website X5 which I used for a while. It had no provision for an on line shop in the UK so, I ditched it. Had a look at OsCommerce which I quite liked, it had a a Royal Mail plugin which would have suited me down to to the ground. The problem with OsC was it was just a shop, not what I wanted.
Then I found WordPress and here we are. My only issue is I am having to use an unsupported out of date copy of Royal Mail plugin which is a bit of a bind when the postage price goes up. I know Woo have one but I am working on a tight budget and can’t afford subscription packages. Hey ho.
