Bio

Hey there! I’m Javier, and I’ve almost been a digital native since the dawn of the internet (okay, maybe that’s a bit dramatic, but you get the point). I’ve been cruising the information superhighway since ’94, crafting websites since ’97, and I’ve been deeply involved with WordPress since 2005. So, I’ve seen some things!

These days, you can find me wearing a couple of official hats in the WordPress Community: I’m Hosting Team Rep and also Lead for the WordPress Advanced Administration Handbook. When I’m not juggling those roles, you’ll often find me buried in system administration work. I’m the go-to guy for all things WordPress, diving into different projects that revolve around making WordPress more awesome for everyone.

WordPress Origin Story

I started using WordPress in 2005 (with WP 1.5) when I had to move from my own self-developed CMS for publishing news and static pages. I moved the elements I had from an RSS to WordPress and from that moment on everything has been growing.
