WordPress Origin Story

It all began during my Master’s in Business Administration when I attended a two-day digital marketing workshop. Among the myriad of tools and concepts introduced, one name stood out: WordPress. Little did I know that this casual introduction would eventually shape my career.

A year later, I joined a company as a salesperson. My sales manager, a fascinating individual with a passion for numerology, maintained a blog powered by WordPress. During our free moments, our conversations often veered toward websites. We marveled at how WordPress, with its user-friendly interface and the absence of coding requirements, was revolutionizing the digital landscape. These discussions piqued my interest and planted the seeds of possibility.

Fast forward another year, my sales manager and I ventured into a new business together—a holiday timeshare membership resale platform. Naturally, we turned to WordPress to build our platform. With its robust features and adaptability, we managed to create something functional and appealing entirely on our own. The sense of accomplishment was exhilarating.

One day, a friend stumbled upon our website. Impressed by what he saw, he approached us to build a similar site for his business. What started as a favor quickly turned into a pattern. More friends and acquaintances began seeking our help, each bringing new challenges and opportunities. Word-of-mouth spread, and with it, our portfolio grew.

It didn’t take long for us to recognize the potential staring us in the face. What began as a side project had blossomed into a full-fledged business opportunity. We took the plunge and founded a WordPress web design and development business, transforming our passion into a profession.

Today, looking back, it’s incredible how a workshop and a series of serendipitous events led me to WordPress. It’s been a journey of discovery, creativity, and growth—a journey I wouldn’t trade for anything.
