I am an LMS and online training course developer, specialising in Project Management training. I got into building learning management systems because I could not find one that suited my preferred combination of great design for a reasonable price!

WordPress Origin Story

As a non-programming developer, WordPress offered me the opportunity to be creative in building my own website, without the need to program. I found (almost) everything I needed on WordPress.org to build my own LMS. My final choice (after MANY false starts with page builders!) was to go with WordPress core. Here’s what I used:

‘Kadence Theme’ and ‘Kadence Blocks’ (from kadencewp.com) for best design, ‘Namaste! LMS’ (from Kibokolabs.com) for best course creation and student progress, and ‘Paid Member Subscriptions’ (from Cozmoslabs.com) for best membership management. All of these are available, FOR FREE, on the WordPress.org website. You can also opt for premium upgrades, as I did, but you don’t have to unless you want the extended features.

Namaste! is great as it gives me a lot of flexibility over design. However, as I create a lot of animated, interactive courses, I needed a way to display these in lesson pages, which is best done through a SCORM compliant package (NO METERED SUBSCRIPTIONS!). Since Namaste! did not provide SCORM compliance, I developed a plugin that DOES provide it. So now, if you like Namaste! LMS, but need SCORM compliance, you can have it!
