Hey there, I’m Hence Wijaya, but you can just call me Han. I create WordPress themes that look good, fast and functional. My aim is to help people and businesses have a strong online presence and communicate effectively with their audience.

When making WordPress plugins, I focus on solving problems users might have. I want to improve website functions, performance, and make things easier for users.

I also offer WordPress Maintenance services to keep websites running smoothly, securely, and up-to-date. Regular maintenance is important for good performance and security.

WordPress Origin Story

It all started in 2008 with a request from Chris, founder of Firehost (now known as Armor.com), was making waves in the secured hosting industry. Chris approached me with a project unlike any I had tackled before — he wanted me to develop a blog for his company. However, there was a catch. This blog was to be built not on Drupal, but on WordPress. My expertise lay in Drupal, and venturing into the unknown territory of WordPress was a bit daunting. But the challenge intrigued me, and I accepted.

Starting to work with WordPress was like diving into a new world. I was excited to learn about its code and features. I found WordPress easy to use and the community supportive. While I faced challenges, I saw them as opportunities to improve my skills in WordPress.

The project was more than just another item in my portfolio; it was a pivotal moment in my career. The blog went live without a hitch. It was a testament to the power and flexibility of WordPress, and I couldn’t help but feel a sense of pride in what I had accomplished. The satisfaction of seeing my client’s vision come to life on this new platform was exhilarating.

That experience was a revelation. I realized that WordPress offered a unique blend of simplicity for users and complexity for developers, making it an ideal platform for a wide range of projects. The positive outcome of the Firehost blog project was the nudge I needed to reevaluate my path. It dawned on me that WordPress was not just another content management system but a gateway to endless possibilities.

In the aftermath of the project’s success, I made the bold decision to switch my focus from Drupal to WordPress. It was an easy transition, fueled by passion and curiosity. I immersed myself in learning everything there was to know about WordPress, from theme development to plugin creation.

Reflecting on this journey, I’m grateful for that serendipitous encounter with Chris and his projects. It steered me towards a path I never anticipated, one that has been incredibly rewarding. Transitioning from a Drupal theme developer to a WordPress professional has been a transformative experience that emphasized the value of embracing change and exploring new possibilities.

What initially seemed like a detour has become a defining chapter in my career story. It underscores the belief that stepping out of one’s comfort zone can lead to remarkable destinations.
