    WordPress Origin Story

    I worked on a webcomic around 2007 and the obvious choice for that was WordPress. One of the must-have plugins listed was Yoast, and I liked the illustrations they had. I went on to work in the games industry for a few years, but wanted to get back into illustration in 2015. Then I saw an opening at Yoast for fulltime illustrator and I couldn’t pass up the opportunity. After a year though I started getting interested in the plugin development too, and started doing UX design. That evolved into an entire team, and with my hands freed up a bit more I was asked to help improve WordPress UX too, especially in the time that Gutenberg was being developed. From there I regularly contributed to the WordPress design team, and did so with pleasure for several years.
