WordPress Origin Story

I’ve used blog publishing tools since Radio (?), Grey Matter, pMachine, and evolved into Movable Type then WordPress. When MT atomized its templates, the ability for PHP beginners to code templates in WordPress made lots more sense. Plus it’s interesting to me WordPress people tend to be liberal arts majors who picked up PHP. I’ve also used Drupal, Expression Engine, and a few other publishing tools.
