Hello, my name is Emanuel Costa. I build professional websites and help companies grow online mainly using WordPress. I write a blog to help myself about what I learned and perhaps help other people. I help organize meetups and whenever I can I attend tech events, specially WordCamps.

Interests

snowboarding, soccer, eSports, my girlfriend and daughter, online marketing, ecommerce, SEO, cars, dogs, travel and meeting new people, specially in the tech industry.

WordPress Origin Story

I started building sites in 1993, so I usually did from scratch or with a framework. When I saw WordPress for the first time in 2006, my impression was that if I used it I was cheating. Now, I think 100 times before not using WordPress for a new project. The feeling I have is that I am “standing on the shoulders of giants” when I start a new project. The learning curve (as developer) is not easy, it takes time and dedication, I am still learning and read everything I can related to the development aspects. I try to go to as many WordCamps and meetups as possible.
