I started working with WordPress because it was the CMS with the best documentation and it didn’t scare me – being a designer. I worked with WordPress from 2004., when it was much different than today. It helped me to be a better designer as well to understand my clients and their needs better than before.

Although I started a first WordPress agency in Croatia with my brother and a friend of mine, today I work with WordPress less than I used to (primarily because I’m a designer and not a developer). Nevertheless, I’ve been an active promoter of WordPress in Croatia, speaking about it, writing about it and even giving interviews about it. I’m one of the organizers of WordCamp Croatia and Croatian WordPress community. This beautiful story began after couple of us came back home from the first WordCamp Europe in Leiden, Netherlands, back in the 2013 and started regular Meetups in Zagreb (Croatian capital). Meetups in Split, Pula and Rijeka followed up in the next months and today Croatian WordPress community is pretty vivid and helpful to each other.

I also promote open source and speak about the importance of open source in the public sector (government and local authorities or anything funded by public money). Recently I’ve been working on the biggest WordPress project in public sector in Croatia – City of Rijeka website redesign. This project is documented with open–design blog and all the content, design and eventually – code, will be open sourced to the public so any city or county in Croatia could use it free of charge.
