    Bio

    Hi, I’m Alfredo Navas, also known as ElPuas, a Senior Frontend Engineer and Product Builder based in Costa Rica.

    For more than 15 years, I’ve been building websites, software, and digital products with a focus on modern WordPress, PHP, JavaScript, React, performance, accessibility, and maintainable frontend architecture.

    My work includes enterprise WordPress projects at WebDevStudios and independent digital products through ElPuas Digital Crafts, a small digital studio focused on practical, long-lasting web solutions.

    I’m also a speaker, organizer, and co-founder of WordPress Costa Rica, with a strong interest in AI-assisted development workflows and helping other developers grow.

    WordPress Origin Story

    I first discovered WordPress in 2009 or 2010 and immediately began using it as my publishing software. It wasn’t until 2016, however, that I really got involved with the WordPress community by attending WordCamps and becoming an advocate. Now, I’m a co-founder of the WordPress community in my city, as well as a speaker and organizer of WordCamps. It’s been an amazing journey and I’m grateful to be a part of such a fantastic community.
