Bio

I’m code loving, beer drinking yokal from Devon, down in deepest darkest depths of England. I currently work for IT support firm in Somerset, but spend my days on contract to on of the UK’s largest transportation providers.

I love all things technology (apart from Apple; yuk!) and I work as a Senior Technician. Out of the office you can normally find me either in front of my computer, coding away, or out and about with friends and family, usually at the cinema or in the pub. I like ale, golden not pale, and often with a hint of something citrus-like. So if you ever see me in the pub, you know what I’ll have; I’ll be the ugly one at the end of the bar!

Interests

cinema, beer, cheese, sport, football (proper football not American), hockey (proper hockey not ice), F1, cars

WordPress Origin Story

As I began my last job our website was in the process of being developed by a 3rd party, and the platform that they chose to adopt was WordPress. Although I am primarily an IT support guy, my company decided I could handle any changes that were required to the the website as well, so my love affair with WordPress began.

Luckily for me, WordPress was so well documented and has such a huge community who are willing (and often eager) to offer support that I started to pick things up very quickly. Knowing that this community are there, I’ve since used WordPress more than a dozen solutions for both my employer and friends/family. Needless to say, like so many other blogs, I’m sure the ones I created wouldn’t be half of what they are today without the awesome WordPress community.

Because so many were willing to help me, I feel it’s only fair that I give back what I can. So because of this, I can now often be found lurking around the WordPress.org support forums, as well as the Stack Exchange WordPress Development and Stack Overflow question & answer sites.
