Ran the full pre-sales and delivery lifecycle for enterprise WordPress engagements — discovery, architecture, handoff, QA, launch, and the iteration that follows. Discovery is where a lot of the real work happens: getting clients to talk through their pain points and the things they didn\'t know they didn\'t know, then turning that into concrete requirements for design and engineering. Built solutions for publishers, nonprofits, manufacturers, and Fortune 1000 companies across content management, e-commerce, and digital publishing, then stuck around through QA and UAT to make sure what shipped matched what was scoped. Onboarding was less about handing over keys and more about starting an ongoing conversation — strategic guidance, spotting the next iteration, building partnerships instead of closing tickets. Also surfaced process improvements that grew team capacity, and got sponsored time from Multidots for WordPress.org contributions and podcast appearances.

I served as a cross-functional generalist across StellarWP\'s family of WordPress brands: StellarWP, SolidWP, GiveWP, and KadenceWP. Traversing marketing, product, customer success, and design, I focused on what needed to be connected or done. I wrote and edited 100+ articles on WordPress security, site management, AI, and e-commerce, going especially deep on the security side through work with SolidWP and Solid Security. A lot of what I did came down to listening — picking up on where customer needs and product capabilities weren\'t quite lining up, then carrying those signals back to leadership and the roadmap.

WordPress Origin Story

My original account here (@dpk) goes back to 2006, which is when I first started building websites with WordPress. I made some earlier experiments and even installed b2 when b2evolution and b2/cafelog were added to Fantastico for cPanel hosts in 2003. At that time, Movable Type and then Mambo, Joomla, and briefly Drupal were my favourite CMSes, and Textpattern was my favourite for blogging. WordPress replaced them all after 2008-10.
