    Forgotten origins, alternative pasts, counterfoil research, shadow work, maintenance art, Luddite technology, animist rationalism, synchronistic synergic systems, thorny knots and double binds, weak centres of resistance, pockets, cryptic northern refugia, paratexts, threshholds, feuilletons, flâneurs, raconteurs, archipelagos, isolarii, portolans, critical bibliography, poetics of relation, tools for conviviality, storytelling, folklore, confabulation, the concert of the world, and island taxis.

    WordPress Origin Story

    My original account on wp.org (@dpk) dates back to April 2006, when I first started building websites with WordPress. I made some earlier experiments and even installed b2 when b2evolution and b2/cafelog were added to Fantastico for cPanel hosts in 2003. At that time, I used Movable Type and then Mambo, Joomla, and briefly Drupal as the publishing engines and development frameworks for work I was hired to do as a consultant and agency of one. Textpattern was my favourite for blogging and simple sites. WordPress replaced them all after 2008-10. Through Post Status, where I was the editor for many years, I got deeper into the business ecosystem and community that grew around WordPress. Since then, I’ve worked with WordPress agency and product teams as a solution architect and technical account manager.
