Interests

I enjoy lifting lots of iron and am an aspiring #strongman, but the rest of my interests are too far and wide to mention here. Find me at a WordCamp and strike up a conversation or find me on Twitter or Instagram.

WordPress Origin Story

Wanted to have a blog back in end of 2004 to play with, and found WordPress. Played around with it for about two years and then turned a hobby into work early 2006. Started getting involved with the Community in 2007 and was entrusted with the admin side of things for everything WordPress in the Netherlands (forum, translations, releases etc).

Co-founded WordCamp Netherlands in 2009, and repeated that on a larger scale with WordCamp Europe in 2013.

Came for the software, ended up with a family™.
