Profiles

I have multiple years of experience on both the product and agency sides of WordPress, with expertise in PHP, Javascript, and other parts of a typical WordPress stack. As a senior level engineer/technical lead I work on site builds, theme and plugin development, native Gutenberg block builds, and custom integrations between plugins and APIs. I have also provided code review, mentored other developers and have overseen projects for clients at the technical level.

I obtained a degree in Analytical Chemistry from the Ohio State University, and worked as a chemist for the first 10 years after college, mostly testing pharmaceuticals for efficacy. I traded the laboratory for a laptop, and hope that nobody asks me a chemistry question, since I’m not sure I would remember the answer. I feel confident, however, in any WordPress questions. I was a WordCamp Columbus volunteer for 3 years, and briefly ran a WordPress Meetup in Marysville, OH.

Outside of work, I’m a coffee-loving, baseball-watching dad of 2 sons, and husband to an awesome wife. I love to play baseball, though that is no longer a realistic endeavor after a torn ACL in my left knee. The injury has not hampered my love for travel, attending baseball games, watching movies and motovlogging from my Vespa GTS. I have two dogs (Zuchons) named Slugger & Karly.
